April 2026, Manila — SM Hotels and Conventions Corp. (SMHCC) announces the appointment of Mr. Sherwin Lucas as General Manager of SMX Convention Center Manila and SMXCITE (SMX Center for International Trade and Exhibitions), the company’s landmark new venue slated to open in 2027 within the Mall of Asia Complex.
A proven leader within the SMHCC portfolio, Lucas previously served as Area General Manager of Park Inn by Radisson Iloilo and Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod since 2021. Under his leadership, both properties consistently delivered strong business performance, operational excellence, and elevated guest satisfaction, while earning notable industry recognitions.
With over two decades of distinguished leadership in the hospitality industry, Sherwin brings extensive expertise to the SMX brand as it continues to strengthen its presence both locally and internationally. He began his career as an Operations Supervisor at Olympia Courtyard Suites before advancing through key leadership roles across international markets.
Prior to joining SM Hotels and Conventions Corp., he served as Director of Event Services at Marriott International properties Sheraton Grand Macao and The St. Regis Macao, where he received the APAC Regional Event Leadership Award in 2016. Sherwin holds degrees in Commerce from University of Muntinlupa and University of the Philippines, complemented by extensive international training in leadership and management. His educational and professional background reflects both strategic vision and operational depth as a hospitality leader.
