The MICHELIN Guide-listed Manila Marriott Hotel at Newport World Resorts officially ushered in its two-month MOONFEST celebration, showcasing the culinary excellence of Man Ho, its MICHELIN Selected Cantonese restaurant.
Held at the Still Tea & Whisky Lounge, the gathering introduced the hotel’s seasonal offerings, featuring a high tea experience with traditional and contemporary mooncakes, premium tea creations by Dilmah’s mixologists, and a selection of hors d’oeuvres curated by Manila Marriott Hotel’s award-winning culinary team.
Man Ho Chinese Chef Chan Chi Fai led the presentation of this year’s MOONFEST offerings and shared the significance of the Mid-Autumn Festival.
“The Mid-Autumn Festival is highly important because it celebrates family reunion, expresses gratitude for the autumn harvest, and honors cultural heritage through ancient myths,” he said.
Chef Chan also announced that Manila Marriott Hotel is institutionalizing MOONFEST as one of its signature annual celebrations.
The two-month campaign is intended to make hotel guests at Manila Marriott experience the mid-autumn festival with Marriott and Filipino touch, not only in their Michelin-Selected authentic Cantonese Restaurant, Man Ho, but also in all their restaurants and bars, including staycation.
As mooncake is the centerpiece of the celebration, this year’s selection from Man Ho features four flavors: the classic White Lotus Paste with Salted Egg Yolk and Red Lotus Paste with Salted Egg Yolk, alongside two contemporary creations—Spicy Beef and Woodland Mixed Nuts.
Beyond the culinary offerings, the mid-autumn festival also embraces the traditions observed across different parts of the world. Lantern lighting, colorful lantern parades, lantern riddles, and fire dragon dances remain among the most recognizable customs associated with the festival.
In the Philippines, the Chinese-Filipino community celebrates with the traditional dice game Pua Tiong Chiu, which will also be featured during Sinagtala Famsgiving at Marriott Café.
This year’s Sinagtala Famsgiving will highlight Filipino-Chinese heirloom cuisine, offering guests an opportunity to appreciate its unique flavors and culinary heritage, while showcasing how it has evolved distinctly from traditional Cantonese and Szechuan cuisines.
As a preview of the celebration, guests sampled the hotel’s signature mooncakes paired with premium Dilmah tea creations specially crafted for the occasion. Elegant mooncake gift boxes and festive packaging were likewise unveiled, highlighting this year’s collection.
The ceremonial tea toast and the cutting of an oversized mooncake served as the event’s highlights, symbolizing prosperity, gratitude, and togetherness as Manila Marriott Hotel officially ushered in its MOONFEST celebration.
Manila Marriott Hotel’s MOONFEST will run from August through September 2026, offering guests a season of cultural experiences, festive dining, premium mooncakes, and meaningful traditions.
