Admiral Hotel Manila – MGallery Collection has welcomed Alessandro Mortillaro as its new General Manager, bringing with him more than 25 years of international hospitality experience across Asia and the United Kingdom.
A seasoned hotelier with a career spanning luxury hotels, integrated resorts, and complex multi-outlet operations, Mortillaro brings extensive expertise in hotel management, commercial strategy, pre-opening, destination marketing, food and beverage, and revenue generation.
His international career has taken him across some of Asia and Europe’s most dynamic hospitality markets, including Singapore, China, Macau, Vietnam, and the United Kingdom.
Before joining Admiral Hotel Manila, Mortillaro served as General Manager of Sofitel London Heathrow, a 605-room luxury hotel featuring multiple restaurants and bars, extensive meeting and events facilities, and one of the United Kingdom’s largest airport hotel operations. During his tenure, he helped deliver strong commercial and operational results, with occupancy increasing from 81 percent in 2022 to 93 percent in 2025, while also strengthening guest satisfaction and employee engagement.
His previous leadership appointments include senior roles at JW Marriott Hotel Zhengzhou, Sheraton Grand Macao, Amara Singapore, and Alma Resort in Vietnam, among others. Across these properties, he has been involved in hotel openings, repositioning initiatives, large-scale operations, commercial development, and building high-performing teams across diverse markets.
Mortillaro’s experience also extends to hospitality development and industry leadership. Among his career highlights are leading pre-opening projects across Asia and the United Kingdom, contributing to award-winning properties, and serving as a founding member and group leader of the Starwood Hotels & Resorts Rooms & Food & Beverage Asia Pacific Council.
For Mortillaro, however, hospitality goes beyond operational performance and business results. His career reflects a strong appreciation for working with people from different cultures and backgrounds, fostering collaborative teams, and creating experiences that leave a lasting impression.
As he begins his new chapter in Manila, Mortillaro looks forward to building on the distinctive character of Admiral Hotel Manila and further strengthening its position as a destination where Filipino heritage, contemporary luxury, and genuine hospitality converge.
“I am delighted to join Admiral Hotel Manila – MGallery Collection and to begin this new chapter in Manila. I look forward to getting to know the team, our guests, and our partners, while discovering what makes this city and its people so special. Together, we hope to create meaningful experiences and continue building on the unique spirit of Admiral Hotel Manila.”
With Mortillaro at the helm, Admiral Hotel Manila – MGallery Collection looks ahead to a new chapter centered on its people, guests, and the distinctive sense of place that defines the property.
