Brotzeit, the home of authentic Bavarian cuisine in the Philippines, has officially opened its newest branch at Newport World Resorts, bringing classic German comfort food, premium imported beers, and a lively European beer hall atmosphere to one of the country’s premier lifestyle and entertainment destinations.

Open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight, Brotzeit Newport World Resorts serves signature Bavarian dishes such as its iconic oven-baked pork knuckle, premium sausages, classic schnitzels, sauerkraut, and hearty sharing platters—paired with freshly imported German beers known for their heritage, craftsmanship, and quality.

Founded in Singapore and franchised locally more than a decade ago, Brotzeit has been serving the Philippine market for 13 years. The Newport World Resorts opening marks the brand’s fourth active branch in the country, following its locations at Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Alabang West Parade, and The Podium. Earlier branches at Shangri-La Plaza and Glorietta paved the way for the brand’s strong local following today.

The concept of Brotzeit is rooted in Bavarian tradition, particularly the cuisine of southern Germany, where Munich’s Oktoberfest originated. Its star dish—the pork knuckle—sets the brand apart from local versions. Unlike the deep-fried Filipino crispy pata, Brotzeit’s pork knuckle uses a meatier cut and is oven-baked, delivering authentic flavors true to Bavaria.

“Our menu reflects classic Oktoberfest fare, offering comforting German staples such as sausages and schnitzels, adapted subtly to suit local palates while preserving authenticity. We have an executive chef who worked in Switzerland and can speak German,” said Malvin Ann, Managing Director of Brotzeit Philippines.

True to its European beer garden identity, Brotzeit emphasizes quality beer as much as food. Its beers and key spices are imported from Germany to maintain the traditional Bavarian taste profile, while most meats, including pork, are sourced locally following strict butchering specifications.

“Despite its strong beer culture, Brotzeit positions itself as a family-friendly restaurant rather than a drinking spot alone,” he added.

The Newport branch features a distinctly European façade and a total seating capacity of around 160 guests, catering to families, corporate groups, and international diners. The restaurant also regularly accommodates embassy and European Union-related events and offers an online reservation platform.

Behind the local operations is Fame.Dish, the restaurant group that introduced Brotzeit to the Philippines. Expanding beyond German cuisine, the group also brought in Japanese concepts such as Menya kokoro, a soupless dry ramen brand with branches in Uptown, The Podium, and San Juan. Under a newly formed company, Taste Lab, the group is preparing to launch additional Korean and Japanese concepts, including an experiential Korean bakery slated for later this year.

Looking ahead, Malvin added that, “Brotzeit continues to prioritize consistency, sustainability, and hands-on management.” While there have been offers to expand beyond Metro Manila, plans remain on hold to ensure the same level of quality and customer experience across all branches. Seasonal celebrations, including Oktoberfest in October, remain a key focus—not just as a restaurant promotion, but as a way of introducing and building appreciation for Bavarian culture in the local dining scene.

With its newest opening at Newport World Resorts, Brotzeit reinforces its position as a go-to destination for authentic Bavarian cuisine in Manila—offering diners the experience of Bavaria, right in the heart of the city.
