Puerto Princesa, Palawan — Amorita Resort officially opened Amorita Resort & Spa – Palawan on March 1, marking the brand’s largest expansion and its entry into Puerto Princesa.
Set along a mangrove-fringed shoreline amid tropical gardens, the 68-key property combines bold brutalist architecture with natural materials that reflect the island’s landscape. The resort is positioned as both a leisure and corporate destination, offering panoramic views of the Sulu Sea.
“We always intended to expand Amorita to new destinations,” said Atty. Lucas Niccolo M. Cauton III, chief executive officer. “Puerto Princesa presented an opportunity that aligned with the brand’s identity. It allowed us to reinterpret Amorita in a way that respects our roots while embracing the distinct character of Palawan.”
The resort features 52 suites, 14 Palawan Pool Villas, and two Grand Pool Villas. Amenities include a main swimming pool with swim-up bar, Sea Tree Spa, fitness center, and a conference facility that can host up to 240 guests.
Dining options include Turchino, a contemporary Italian restaurant offering indoor and al fresco seating, and Katala, the all-day dining venue serving global and locally inspired cuisine.
Ria Cauton, president of Amorita Resort, described the new property as a milestone for the brand, which has operated for 18 years.
“Amorita Resort & Spa – Palawan represents our evolution,” she said. “It reflects both our heritage and our future direction.”
She added that the design was inspired by Palawan’s natural formations, including the Puerto Princesa Underground River, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. “We believe in working with what is endemic to the destination, allowing the land itself to guide the experience,” she said.
