An enchanting dining and illusion show that turns every guest into a magician
Following its successful runs in Germany and Hong Kong, the world-renowned illusionist duo The Clairvoyants, composed of Thommy Ten and Amélie van Tass, are bringing their newest creation, The Magic Table, to Grand Hyatt Manila. The one-of-a-kind experience blends spellbinding illusion, storytelling, and fine dining into an unforgettable multisensory journey.
“This concept is brand new and so unique,” said Thommy Ten during the media launch at Grand Hyatt Manila. “I’ve performed thousands of shows in Las Vegas, Europe, and Asia, but this is the first time I get to sit down and experience the show myself. Watching people’s reactions up close — seeing them feel like kids again — that’s my favorite part.”
Having captured global audiences and finishing as runners-up on America’s Got Talent Season 11, The Clairvoyants have since become household names in the world of modern magic. Their newest project, The Magic Table, invites guests to not only watch but be part of the wonder.
“Everyone goes home a magician,” Thommy shared. “At the end of the night, guests can perform tricks for their friends and family. We even give them a certificate if they do everything right.”
The show is designed to engage all senses, merging illusion with gastronomy in collaboration with the Grand Hyatt Manila’s culinary team. Each course corresponds to a specific magical act — allowing diners to taste, see, and feel the story unfold through creative pairings and symbolic ingredients.
“For example, if the first act is about a magic key, the dish will feature elements that represent that,” he explained. “Every act connects to a flavor, a texture, or a story on the plate. It’s not only for your eyes and hands — it’s for your tummy, for everything.”
At the launch, guests were treated to a sneak preview of The Magic Table setup at The Peak, the hotel’s iconic rooftop venue.
Complementing the evening’s enchantment, the Peak Bar team introduced cocktails crafted exclusively for The Magic Table media launch. Guests indulged in The Golden Charm, a silky milk-washed blend of rum, strawberry, and lime; Mystic Eye, a clarified mix of vodka, Midori, pineapple, and cucumber; and Magic Mist, a vibrant gin-based cocktail infused with butterfly pea and topped with prosecco. Each drink was designed to capture the mystery and allure of the magical evening.Inspired by mystery and illusion, each creation showcased inventive techniques and vibrant flavors — from milk-washing to clarified blends — ensuring guests experienced a taste of magic in every glass.
What unfolded were a series of culinary illusions such as the caviar-topped marble potatoes that were camouflaged among real stones, scallops nestled on a bed of edible seashells, and charred broccoli disappearing into lumps of coal. Even the show’s narrative included a canine co-star named Coney, adding a whimsical twist to the evening’s surprises.
According to Thommy, the goal is to create a holistic experience that engages all senses. “It’s not only for your brain or your hands,” he added. “It’s for your tummy — for everything.”
“We want to make Manila more magical,” Thommy said, encouraging guests to share their experiences online. “Magic is meant to be shared.”
While the full two-hour dinner experience is set to launch early next year, the preview offered more than enough enchantment to leave guests spellbound and eager for the official opening.
The Magic Table will be launched at the Grand Hyatt Manila starting January 2026. Reservations will open in the coming weeks.
