Colombo, Sri Lanka | June 30, 2025 — A new chapter in South Asian tourism begins with the highly anticipated launch of City of Dreams Sri Lanka on August 2, 2025, a joint venture by John Keells Holdings PLC (JKH) and Melco Resorts & Entertainment (Melco).
Touted as South Asia’s first fully integrated resort, City of Dreams Sri Lanka represents the largest private sector investment in Sri Lanka’s luxury lifestyle sector to date, with a project value exceeding USD 1.2 billion. Strategically located in the heart of Colombo, the development is expected to redefine the city’s place on the global tourism map.
The opening marks the completion of the resort’s final components, including a world-class casino, the ultra-luxury Nüwa hotel, and a premium shopping mall, positioning the property as a one-stop destination for leisure, entertainment, and business.

The integrated resort boasts of 800 rooms and suites, divided between the 687-room Cinnamon Life hotel, which opened in October 2024, and the 113-room Nüwa hotel, Melco’s flagship luxury brand.
