Nawa Wellness is poised to add more attention to the wellness industry of the Philippines through its exceptional range of facilities and restorative experiences that are uniquely Filipino.
A 17-hectare property in Calatagan, Batangas, it is the latest project of Araw Hospitality Group, although only 7 hectares are currently developed according to the resort manager, Tanya Deldar. As a seasoned operator in the hospitality industry, Araw Hospitality Group is known for its ownership and management of luxury brands such as Lihim Resorts in El Nido, Bacau Bay Resort in Coron, Le Soleil de Boracay, and One Hagdan Villas in Boracay. The group also manages comfort brands, including UNWND Boutique Hotels with locations in Dumaguete, Makati, Calatagan, Camiguin, and the upcoming site in Siargao; the boutique hotel Kommons by Kamino in Boracay; and Araw Residences in Makati, Dumaguete, and Cavite. These collections show the group’s continuous dedication to exceptional hospitality.
As shared by Deldar, Nawa Wellness was inaugurated in January of this year, the resort is proud to offer villas that celebrate the Philippines’ diverse cultural legacy. Visitors can experience the distinct privilege of staying in villas named after iconic Philippine locales.
The Malabon villa features three beautifully arranged rooms, each spanning from 13 to 22 square meters, located on the second level. These rooms showcase decorations that centered on Tagalog heritage. The ground floor serves as the reception area for the resort.
In the Ilocos villa, you’ll find three distinct units, each varying in size from 16 to 39 sqm. Adorned with regional heirlooms, the villa showcases a spacious balcony and a generously sized lounge area for relaxation and socializing, while the Escolta offers 6 studio and loft-style accommodations (16 to 24 sqm), and provides access to the villa’s own plunge pool. The Amadeo section features 3 uniformly sized rooms with each boasting a private balcony. Similarly, the Zambales section has 3 units of 22 sqm each, sharing a common balcony with forest view.
Perched on a hill are the Malay villas, comprising 5 single-detached units of 23 sqm. These are distinctively designed cabanas with modern eclectic interiors, and each comes with a private deck offering views of the sea and mountains.
On the other hand, the Araw Villa, the resort’s Presidential Suite, is nestled in a quiet mid-hill area with forest view and is the most spacious. It is styled with a bohemian flair and features a generous balcony, a lounge area, and a gazebo for small gatherings.
The uniquely themed villas provide an immersive cultural experience, thoughtfully crafted with furniture and interiors adorned with art and decor to reflect the traditional aesthetics associated with their namesake locales. Most rooms are equipped with king-sized (Ottoman) beds depending on type of villas, and complete room amenities that are typical in an upscale resort.
The wellness resort was built with ecology in mind by not cutting most of the forest trees and just going around them to build a more natural rolling landscape. The forested landscape heartens to inspire relaxation and presents an array of facilities sure to rejuvenate the mind and body. Guests can bask in the healing properties of the Himalayan Salt room where the unique salt-infused air promotes respiratory health and skin rejuvenation.
On the other hand, the Kawa Bath, infused with homegrown herbs and flowers, coconut milk and honey, offers a therapeutic soak amidst the calming sounds of nature. For a more adventurous treatment, the Cold Plunge is also available where guests can immerse themselves in ice baths for a restorative experience that relaxes muscles and uplift the spirit.
Nawa Wellness proudly showcases the Araw Hospitality Group’s acclaimed Panari Spa, a sanctuary for relaxation and rejuvenation. Here, guests can indulge in the signature Hilot Trilogy, a serene ritual that begins with the time-honored Filipino hilot massage, transitions into the healing Ventosa cupping therapy, and culminates with the distinctive Dagdagay foot massage.
Settled within architecturally teepee-inspired structures with interiors that display warmth and serenity, each teepee features its own spa treatment area surrounded by aromatic candles and essential oils, and massage tables draped with white linens, a design that balances rustic charm with contemporary affluence. The spa also provides a range of revitalizing body scrubs and facials. These treatments are crafted with pure, natural ingredients for holistic full-body renewal.
There are other wellness activities to improve the physical and mental condition like the Mandala Floral Art, Aqua Zumba, Shamanic Breathwork and Meditation that can be complemented by some time in the steam room, sauna room, and Vichy shower with scrub. Workout routines can be expanded using the resort’s other amenities like fully equipped fitness studio, large swimming pool, and an expansive pickle ball court for some fun and friendly competitions.
Nawa Wellness is not just a haven for romantic getaways or family retreats; it also caters to small groups seeking a peaceful setting for social events, corporate conferences, or reward-driven excursions. Perched at the resort’s summit, a chapel offers an idyllic venue for exchanging wedding vows. The resort’s lounges and meditation areas are versatile, easily converting into intimate spaces for meetings, with a selection of activities designed to suit the needs of smaller incentive groups. The resort features three picturesque gazebos—Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao—which can be repurposed into tranquil spots for both creative and professional pursuits.
The Visayas Gazebo is a popular choice for engaging in Mandala Floral Art sessions and enjoying private meals, while the Spa Reception serves as a go-to spot for Shamanic Breathwork, meditation, wellness discussions, and as a gathering space.
For a more relaxed and informal setting, the Apothecary is equipped with cozy sofas and a round table, ideal for socializing or enjoying a casual meeting. Guests can also indulge in a playful twist on refreshments at the adjacent Gayuma Juice Bar, which complements the laid-back vibe with a variety of beverages.
For the gastronomic journey, the resort’s restaurant, Dalisay Epicurean Wellness Dining takes pride in transforming traditional Filipino cuisine with an innovative twist. Its farm-to-table ethos of Chef Rodney is evident in its use of fresh and locally sourced ingredients for quality and sustainability. Each recipe has been thoughtfully reimagined to bring a memorable dining experience delighting the palate. Dalisay’s menu are good healthy options besides being designed and plated artfully. It can accommodate a gathering of up to 20 guests, with the possibility of extending the dining area into the surrounding gazebos to cater to larger parties when required.
