The current trends and the issue of skills-drain in the hospitality industry will be among the topics addressed by marketing practitioners, owners, industry insiders, and academics at the 2nd Sales & Marketing Summit organized by the Hotel Sales & Marketing Association (HSMA). This one-day event is scheduled to be held at the Manila Marriott Hotel on June 27, 2024.
Themed “Hospitality Unleashed: Breaking Boundaries and Creating Connections,” the Sales and Marketing Summit aims to provide attendees with valuable insights into the tourism industry, covering areas such as economic outlook, sustainability, talent development, online strategies, and sales and marketing innovations.
HSMA President Loleth So notes the substantial support from hospitality industry owners at last year’s summit, especially regarding the growth of their investments as forecasted by industry experts.
She also announced that HSMA will bring in Philippine Airlines Vice President for Sales Salvador Britanico Jr. to the summit. “We did not have the airline outlook last year. The airline outlook obviously impacts the hospitality industry and we at the hospitality industry work very closely together with airline companies. Kapag walang airline, walang turista. So how they move is going to impact the hospitality trends as well.”
The summit will also highlight the role of technology in expanding hospitality businesses. Industry insiders from Bakuun Holdings, Hotelbeds, RatePing.com, Hotelbeds.com, Ticket.com, Zucchetti Hospitality, and STAAH Limited will travel to Manila to share their projections for the hospitality industry’s future.
Meanwhile, Divine delos Reyes, head of People Management of Megaworld Hotels & Resorts will share her expertise in talent development and retention to combat the declining number of hoteliers despite the fact that the hotel industry in the country is growing.
“We were so inspired with the positive feedback from last year’s summit,” So remarked. “It really helped our sales and marketing professionals and it became the kind of roadmap for the last half of the year all the way until next year.”
The 2nd HSMA Sales & Marketing Summit welcomes all interested parties, particularly those in the hospitality sector, as well as HRM educators and students. The registration fee for the one-day summit is P3,800 for HSMA members and P4,800 for non-members, including a buffet lunch and snacks.
