Wyndham Destinations opens new corporate center in Clark

Wyndham Destinations (WYND) celebrated yesterday the opening of a modern, purpose-built regional office in Clark, Pampanga, to support its expanding Philippines-based team and its growth across the Asia Pacific.

Based in Orlando, Florida, WYND is the world’s largest vacation ownership and exchange company that boasts of more than 220 vacation ownership resorts and 4,300 vacation exchange properties in over 110 countries. It has two business lines—Wyndham Vacation Clubs and RCI Exchanges.

The PhP150 million office building can accommodate up to 800 staff with morning and evening schedules. It features expansive working areas, seven meeting pods, four training rooms, a café-style canteen, and a games room.

Present at the opening are Singapore based, Barry Robinson, President and Managing Director, International Operations, Wyndham Vacation Clubs; Australian based Liam Crawley, Chief Financial Officer, Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific; along with representatives from the global headquarters office.

In his speech at the opening, Barry Robinson expressed, “Today’s opening is an exciting milestone for our business as it gives this important regional support team a brand new, permanent home.”

He added that the Philippines team has an important function, serving four other corporate offices across Asia-Pacific, along with 20 preview centers across the region and its expanding management portfolio. It also recently began supporting the global headquarters in the USA.

“With Wyndham Destinations’ evolving customer base around the world, our Clark office will continue to support the company’s growing global footprint.”

Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific began in Clark in 2016 with five employees and, in just three years has grown its local workforce to more than 300 team members. Under local entity, Wyndham Services Asia Pacific (Philippines), Inc., it employs staff in a broad range of fields, including accounts payable, finance, corporate marketing, customer experience, human resources, information technology, and more.

“Clark is the perfect location for this regional office, because of the talented and multilingual professionals, thriving business landscape, minimal congestion and well-connected public transport system it offers,” Robinson added.

Liam Crawley who led the project stated, “We are committed to Clark as a business and having invested over Php150 million, we also estimate we will inject a further Php260 million annually to operate in the local community mainly through employing local staff.”

Crawley also mentioned during the press conference that they have set up the building as their initial core foundation. At the moment the building can seat 435 staff and the empty space at the back can fit in 500 more, the space that they are looking in for future expansion

The new WYND building boasts of applying sustainable best practices by laying out policies and installing numerous green features such as LED lighting, eco-friendly furniture, waste segregation, and recycling programs. These initiatives further support the company’s other numerous sustainability initiatives such as eliminating the use of both balloons and single use-straws in an effort to reduce consumption of single-use plastic through its WYNDGreen program.
