Lio Beach, a four-kilometer stretch of pristine ivory sands surrounded by azure waters, sets its sights on being recognized as the most Instagram-worthy setting for frisbee enthusiasts. Lio Beach Frisbee is now held every Saturday from 3:30pm till sunset at the Lio beachfront, where restaurants and shops are also located.
Kids from 10 to 16 years old are encouraged to participate in a friendly game of frisbee with Coach Hannah, a founding member of Discarte El Nido, which is a gorup of locla kids who play frisbee. Coach Hannah, together with Doctor Jerika, a medical practitioner who is always present during the games to apply first aid and oversee any medical emergency, instruct all participants to do some pre-game exercises such as warm up and stretching. They also invite the kids to do spirit circles before and after the game, which ultimately teach them the value of upholding sportsmanship and fair play.
Both local residents and visitors to Lio Tourism Estate are encouraged to participate. Meanwhile, frisbee parents and other adults may visit the nearby Taboan Weekend Market, where local produce, delicacies and souvenirs are sold at reasonable prices on Saturdays and Sundays.
Everyone is also encouraged to simply relax al fresco, enjoy a nature walk or swim, snorkel, or even rent a kayak. Additionally, the restaurants at Lio offer a range of food selections. Island hopping and other tours are also availalbe from operators holding office at Shops at Lio.
Free shuttle service to and from El Nido town are available for all.
