CCA Manila will hold a culinary photography workshop on April 29-30, featuring Melbourne-based commercial photographer Trudy Schuringa.
With 16 years of commercial photography experience, Trudy is best known for her photographs of fine foods and wines, including projects in fashion, luxury goods, gifts, furnishings, and homewares. Trudy’s beautiful images have graced cookbooks, editorials, annual reports, and a number of magazines and journals such as Melbourne Homes, Pools & Outdoor, Kitchen & Bathrooms, Wineries of Victoria, Epicurean, James Halliday’s Wine Companion, Coles Baby & Toddler, Qantas Magazine, and Good Taste. Her unique style and talent in capturing distinctive elements makes her one of Melbourne’s sought-after master food photographer.
Called “Pic Your Food – A Course in the Fine Art of Photographing Food”, Trudy’s master course will provide essential food photography tips including digital camera effects and how to best utilize various lighting techniques for mind-blowing results. Her workshop will incorporate the following areas of photographing food – with emphasis on preparing food for advertising, books, magazines, blogs and social media: basic camera/lighting/software workshop; props and presentation; cooking for photography and social media/blog mobile pics – apps and styles.
Participants will be actively engaged throughout the process, which will include lectures and actual food photoshoot sessions in both indoor and outdoor restaurant settings.
The Pic Your Food photography workshop will be offered in two sessions at the following dates and venues: Epicurious in Shangri-la Mall, Mandaluyong City (April 29, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.) and Lombardi’s Shangri-La East Wing (April 30, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.). Rate per person is Php3,500 and is inclusive of snacks. Each class is limited to 15 persons.
