ITB China 2018 partners with China Tourism Academy

December 10, 2017 — Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in Bagac, Bataan kicked off the Christmas season with a formal lighting ceremony held at the resort’s main plaza. More than 300 guests from leading corporations, government community, media, online influencers and industry friends have joined and witnessed for the first time Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar’s art installation lighting ceremony last December 1. The said art installation entitled “Home” was headed by Bellas Artes Foundation’s Project Manager, RJ Camacho. The resort highlighted local talented performing group such as Bataan Chamber Singers, Bataan Childrens Choir, Koro Bangkal and Jose de Piro Kabataang Orchestra as part of the momentous event.


Director of Marketing Erwin Dona welcomed the guests with his opening remarks and the first Filipina to be crowned as Reina HispanoAmericana Teresita “WynWyn” Marquez arrived to grace the night’s affair and led the lighting ceremony. Bellas Artes Founder and Director Jam Acuzar took the lead on the ceremonial toast to officially kick-off the Christmas mood at the Resort.


The night was a celebration in honor of the community of Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar’s in house artisans, RJ Camacho, and team leader of the Christmas’ art installation. The Hotel Sales and Marketing Association’s (HSMA) quest to award its 80-strong member-properties for creativity, innovation, and excellence continues with the 3rd Virtus Awards to be held in November this year.

The multi- category competition offers a unique platform among hotel sales and marketing professionals in the country to tell their stories of excellence and success that resonate well beyond the hotel and resort industry. It acknowledges customer and business-focused strategies as well as innovative and creative programs that bring about measurable results and return on investments to their properties.

Launched in 2015, the Virtus Awards grants three individual awards and one corporate award annually. The individual awards for Associate, Manager, and Leader are in the categories of room sales, events management, catering, reservation, public relations and communications, and revenue management.

According to HSMA President Margie Munsayac, the steadfast support of the Department of Tourism as well as a stellar cast of industry leaders and influencers as judges will enable HSMA to continue its celebration of excellence in hotel sales and marketing.
