PHOA to hold first Tourism and Hotel Investment Summit

The Philippine Hotel Owners Association (PHOA) will host The Philippine Tourism and Hotel Investment Summit 2024 on June 21, 2024 (Friday) at The Ballroom, New World Makati Hotel, Makati City. This groundbreaking event aims to boost tourism and hotel investments while advocating for sustainable tourism practices in the Philippines.

Anticipated to attract approximately 250 delegates, the summit will feature a Conference with Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco as the Keynote Speaker. The Conference will delve into crucial issues, emerging trends, and investment opportunities in the tourism and hotel sector through panel discussions.

The summit will include an Exhibition with 30 companies showcasing various products and services such as hotel equipment, energy efficiency solutions, spa and wellness offerings, and digital technology. The Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) will co-present the Summit, along with sponsors like the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) and the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB).

“This Summit is a momentous occasion for all of us in the tourism and hotel industry. It provides an excellent opportunity not only to network but to share insights and strategies towards sustainable development and growth. We are especially honored to have Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco and Chief Operating Officer Mark Lapid lead our program, ensuring the highest level of discourse and engagement with our attendees,” enthused PHOA President Arthur Lopez.

The Conference will bring together hotel owners, stakeholders, developers, government officials, business associations, investment groups, and other key players in the tourism industry for productive discussions that will influence the sector’s future. In parallel, the Exhibition will feature cutting-edge products aimed at improving the growth and efficiency of hospitality establishments nationwide.

The invited speakers include Peter Janech from UN Tourism, who will share insights into global and regional tourism investments; Jesper Palmovist from STR (Asia Pacific), who will provide data on emerging trends and prospects in the Asia Pacific hotel industry; and Sam David from IATA, who will discuss the impact of aviation on the operation of hotels in the Philippines.

Five panel discussions will have the topics: Developers’ Outlook for Hotel Investments in the Philippines; The Rise of Independent Hotel Developers; Navigating Challenges and Opportunities for Casino Hotels;  Key to Successful Partnership Between Hotel Owners and Management Companies; and, The Importance of Innovative and Sustainable Aviation in the Growth of Tourism in the Philippines.
