Tourism Congress of the Philippines inducts new officers for 2024

The Tourism Congress of the Philippines (TCP), a pivotal consultative body in the nation’s tourism landscape, proudly announces the induction of its new officers for 2024. The induction ceremony, held at the Department of Tourism office on April 17, 2024, marks a significant milestone in the collaborative efforts between the private sector and the government to shape and enhance the Philippines’ tourism industry.

Established under Republic Act No. 9593, the TCP serves as a vital conduit between the private sector and government agencies, facilitating the development and implementation of tourism policies that foster sustainable growth and competitiveness.

Among the distinguished appointees is James Montenegro, Country Manager of Chroma Hospitality, who now holds the position of President within the TCP. With extensive experience in the hospitality industry, Montenegro brings a wealth of expertise to his new role, poised to contribute significantly to the advancement of strategies within the tourism sector.

The appointed officers completing TCP’s roster are esteemed professionals with rich backgrounds in hospitality and tourism. Michael Jaey C. Albaña, currently the Vice President & General Manager of SMX Convention Center, was appointed as Executive Vice President. Representing Mindanao, Marilou W. Ampuan, proprietor of Bloomers Travel and Tours, was appointed as VP for Mindanao. Margarita F. Munsayac, VP for Sales and Marketing of Bluewater Maribago Beach Resort, was appointed as Treasurer. The TCP Trustees include Mary Ann M. Montemayor, President of KONKORDANS Destination Management Co., and Stanley K. Ng, President and COO of the country’s flag carrier, Philippine Airlines.

The newly inducted officers represent a diverse array of companies within the hospitality and tourism industry, reflecting the collaborative spirit and collective commitment to driving innovation and excellence in Philippine tourism.

As the tourism landscape continues to evolve, the TCP remains steadfast in its dedication to promoting sustainable tourism practices, enhancing industry standards, and fostering economic growth across the Philippines.
