Sheraton Manila Hotel introduces two significant additions to its executive committee, a clear demonstration of the hotel’s unwavering commitment to enhancing its services and operations.
In reaffirming its position as “The World’s Gathering Place,” the hotel proudly announces the appointments of Anna Rita “Ria” Gatus-Galvez as the Director of Sales & Marketing, Anngeli “Geli” Reyes-Patino as Director of Rooms, and Czarina Ann “Czats” Lopez as the Director of Food and Beverage. All are accomplished professionals and hoteliers who bring extensive global hospitality experience and a distinguished track record to their new roles.
Ria’s journey with Marriott commenced in 2018 when she joined as the Director of the Event Booking Center. Her relentless pursuit of excellence, adept forging of new partnerships, and strengthening of existing collaborations have propelled her through various roles. Most recently, she held the position of Cluster Director of the Event Booking Center, overseeing both Marriott Hotel Manila and Courtyard by Marriott Iloilo.
With nearly three decades of experience in the hospitality industry, Ria offers profound insights into sales, marketing, management, and operations. She has been instrumental in rolling out innovative strategies that emphasize customized event planning, ensuring exceptional experiences for guests and corporate clients.
Before her tenure with Marriott, Ria held senior leadership roles in Sales at five-star hotels. Her hospitality career, spanning nearly 30 years, began in Front Office operations and evolved into convention sales and room sales at The Sofitel Philippine Plaza, and prior to that, as the Director of Sales at the Diamond Hotel Philippines.
As proven to be a highly effective sales leader, she will bear the responsibility of advancing commercial objectives, formulating and upholding strategies for revenue expansion, overseeing the talent within the sales and marketing team, and maintaining the hotel’s unwavering commitment to excellence.
On the other hand, Geli represents a remarkable example of homegrown talent within the Marriott organization. Her foray into the world of hospitality commenced immediately upon her graduation, when she secured a role as a Front Office Associate at the New World Makati City Hotel. Subsequently, Geli transitioned to the Marriott Hotel Manila, where she undertook the roles of Front Desk Associate and Guest Relations Associate in December 2010, quickly adapting to the high standards of Marriott’s service excellence.
Her contributions and dedication led her to the role of Duty Manager in April 2013. During this time, she honed her skills and deepened her understanding of the intricate workings of the hotel industry. Geli’s journey within Marriott Hotel Manila took an even more promising turn as she assumed the role of Assistant Front Office Manager. Geli’s career trajectory didn’t stop there as she took a pivotal role at the prestigious Sheraton Manila Hotel as the Front Office Manager and an Officer-in-Charge of Rooms Operations.
Geli’s journey through the Marriott organization exemplifies the core values of the company. Her rise serves as an inspiring testament to what can be achieved through dedication, knowledge, and unwavering commitment. She stands as a shining example of career development within the Marriott community, proving that with determination and expertise, anyone can ascend to the highest echelons of the industry.
Meanwhile, Czats’ 17-year association with the Marriott brand dates back to 2002 when she started as a Sales Assistant at the New World Renaissance Hotel. Over the years, she advanced to become the Corporate Sales Executive for Events in 2005 before taking on the role of Events Manager at the Australian – New Zealand Chamber of Commerce. Czats was also a member of the pre-opening team of the SMX Convention Center in 2007, serving as the Senior Sales and Marketing Manager.
Her career at Marriott resumed in 2010 when she became the Director of Event Management, coinciding with the opening of the largest hotel ballroom in the country, the Marriott Grand Ballroom. Among her many accomplishments is her role as the Project Lead for the 2022 Marriott APEC GM Summit held in Thailand, as well as her service as an Event Advisory Board Member. She also received the prestigious Event Leadership Diamond Award of Global Event Management from Marriott International in 2012.
Czats’ unyielding commitment to seamless operations has led her to assume the role of Director of Food and Beverage. With 21 years of expertise in Event Management and Food and Beverage, she has prepared to lead the division to new heights. Her extensive knowledge and passion for curating exceptional guest services and dining experiences will ensure that Sheraton Manila Hotel continues to shine in the city’s vibrant culinary scene.
