The country’s premier lifestyle and entertainment destination, Resorts World Manila (RWM) has announced its rebranding into Newport World Resorts (NWR) on Wednesday (June 20). Having successfully pioneered the integrated resort concept in the Philippines, the well-established brand is taking a bold step into newer and bigger things.
According to NWR, “The name change reflects a shift in perspective for the brand to represent itself as the most innovative, dynamic, and comprehensive casino, hotels, and entertainment complex in the country.”
“NWR is reinventing the brand to bring together its pioneering integrated resorts and the best of its community within the sprawling Newport City complex.”
Newport’s integrated complex boasts of the highest hotel room key count in a single property with five international hotel brands — Marriott, Sheraton, Hilton, Okura, and Holiday Inn Express. It offers a wide range of gaming thrills with its Newport Grand Wing and Garden Wing, together with the mall, retail outlets, performing arts, and restaurants.
In a previous statement (June 2022) by Alliance Global Group Inc (AGI), one of NWR’s joint venture owners says, “it plans to spend Php4 billion (US$75 million) on expansion projects at its jointly owned integrated resort.
AGI said it would provide funding to NWR parent Travellers International Hotel Group Inc’s ongoing expansion projects, “mainly in leisure and entertainment.”
AGI’s CEO Kevin Tan said, “From where we are now, there is no other way to go but move forward, laying out the foundations of a better tomorrow.”
