Hilton Manila’s Port Bar brings back the pub crowd

Back in the day when our spare time were spent on the easy life, relaxation with peers and friends were spent in bars and pubs as the watering holes.

One can munch on pica-picas and drink their favorite beer (beer was considered just a beverage for us then), play darts or pool, watched sportscasts while having friendly banter. These can be on weekends or right after work, avoiding traffic.

Overtime, pubs disappeared in the Metro, replaced by karaoke bars and coffee shops where many of the younger generation bow to the power of the Internet and social media.

Happily, Hilton Manila now aims to bring back this lifestyle of the “In Crowd” in a trend-setting environment of a luxury hotel. It recently launched Port Bar, a celebration of the iconic Western pub culture, featuring innovative blend of local flavors and produce. Port Bar offers an exclusive beverage selection and live musical entertainment in the evenings.

“We want to provide our patrons with an alternative, casual dining experience at Port Bar where they can simply unwind, share drinks, and indulge in sumptuous meals with friends and family,” shares John Lucas, Hotel General Manager, adding, “from listening to your favorite tunes, enjoying a round of drinks, after a hard day at work, or catching the latest sports matches,”

Nothing is taken from the original concept of a pub, it is however enhanced by the food created by chefs, a full bar line-up, entertainment, safe parking, and even an easy access to NAIA’s Terminal 3 via Skybridge for an added peace- of- mind in traveling.

Burgers galore: Soft-shell Crab Sandwich and Signature Port Cheeseburger

With a comfortable seating of up to 50 guests, Port Bar presents patrons with an a la carte service that is casual but attentive with menu highlights such as: The Signature Port Cheeseburger, Rustic Paddle Sourdough Pizzas that pay tribute to Melbournes’s Lygon Street, and Tamnavulin Whiskey Aged Ribeye Steak, among others.

Cheers to the relaunch of the Port Bar with HIlton Manila’s media friends.
