In welcoming guests to a brighter Christmas season, Taal Vista Hotel recently held a myriad of holiday festivities such as A Walk Through Time Exhibit, Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, and In The Mood Wine Dinner.

For 82 years, Taal Vista Hotel has remained the landmark hotel of Tagaytay City. Rich in history, “A Walk Through Time Exhibit” shares the heritage of the hotel, Taal Lake and Volcano, and Tagaytay to its guests and most especially to contribute to the culture and tourism Tagaytay City has to offer and keep the city alive.

“A Walk Through Time” exhibit was opened by distinguished guests Ms Aniela Tolentino, an international entrepreneur, environment advocate, and the eldest daughter of Congressman Bambol and Mayor Agnes Tolentino; Director Marites Castro, Regional OIC of Department of Tourism; Ms. Peggy Angeles, Executive Vice President of SM Hotels and Conventions Corp.; TVH General Manager Ramon Makilan,; and Nestor Jardin, Consultant of SM Hotels and Conventions Corp.

The exhibit, located at the ground floor of the Lake Wing,  was spearheaded by Jardin along with Dennis Maristany of Mabuhay Guides, who trained 16 hotel staff after months of training to be the official tour guides of the hotel.

The guided tour is free for hotel guests while walk-ins can avail of the tour for Php 800.00 with snacks for one person.

The holiday lights at Taal Vista Hotel offer a symbol of hope. The annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Mid-Gardens was led by DOT Director Castro, Ms Angeles, and GM Ramon Makilan. The event culminated with a ceremonial gift giving for the children of Augustinian Sisters Servants of Jesus and Mary, the beneficiaries of the celebration.

The In The Mood Wine Dinner in partnership with Happy Living Philippines Corporation followed.  Guests were treated to an extensive seven-course dinner inspired by the era of the 1930’s and 1940’s created by the culinary team headed by Executive Chef Jayme Natividad and paired with good wines selection of Happy Living.

The menu consisted of amuse bouche – Chicken Relleno paired with Little Miss Rose 2020; soup – Sopa Aristocrata, salad – Pansit Buko Salad, main courses – Lapu-Lapu De La Reina paired with Beringer NV Chardonnay 2016 and Filet de boeuf Prince Albert paired with Ramón Bilbao Gran Reserva 2011, and dessert – Cathedral Windows paired with Brachetto D’ Acqui 2019.

Highlighting the yuletide mood, the covered terrace was elaborately designed by Julius Villamante of Amante Fleurs using fresh, local flowers with touches of black accent pieces. Classic pieces from the 1930’s and 1940’s including some Christmas songs performed by musical artists singer Innah Chico and pianist Lloyd Nicolas.

The event happily ended with GM Makilan inviting all guests to spend the holiday season at Taal Vista Hotel. Guests brought home a specially curated holiday box of freshly baked goodies from Taal Vista Hotel’s Cakeshop to share with their families.

With hopeful and joyful hearts, Taal Vista Hotel wishes Christmas  to be merrier as families reunite and celebrate with the eventual resolution of this pandemic.
