Accor tops off the first ibis Styles Hotel in Araneta City

Araneta City, the City of Firsts, officially welcomes the first ibis Hotel brand in the country with a ceremonial topping off of the ibis Styles Hotel today in Cubao, Quezon City.

The 15-storey ibis Styles Hotel is the tenth hotel under the Accor brand in the country, and the latest additions to Araneta City’s growing offerings.

Present at the topping off ceremony are Araneta City’s management consultant Rowell Recinto, Accor’s VP for Operations for Midscale & Economy Brands in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam, Maldives and the Philippines Emmanuel Marion, Director of Design & Technical Services for South East and North Asia Roger Huet, along with principal design consultant Arch. Sudhakar Thakurdesai, Megawide Construction Corporation Chairman and CEO Engr. Edgar Saavedra, AVP for Operations Engr. Romeo Furigay, and Deputy Head for Construction Engr. Frederick Tan.

Under Accor’s mid-scale tier, ibis Styles Hotel will house 286 comfortable and spacious rooms, with 22 guestrooms available per floor. Each of these rooms will treat the guests with ibis Styles’ signature and relaxing Sweet Bed, a trademark of the ibis brand.

The hotel will also provide six function rooms to cater to meetings and online conferences.

An overhanging pool, furnished with a glass bottom, will be the highlight of the roof deck bar overlooking the Metro Manila skyline. Facing west, the pool will provide a unique view of Manila Bay’s pristine sunset.

The all-day dining outlet and patisserie which will be connected to the New Gateway mall will serve as an alternative meeting place, a workplace, a hub for dining, relaxation and socialization.

All of the amenities in the ibis Styles Hotel will be powered by fast and reliable 5G Wi-Fi technology to meet the demands of travelers.

Carrying the ibis brand design philosophy, the ibis Styles Hotel in Araneta City will display individuality and stylish comfort reflecting the soul and heritage of its location.

A stone-throw away from Smart Araneta Center Coliseum, the interiors of the hotel will feature designs based on historical events in the coliseum.

Ibis Styles Hotel is set to open in the last quarter of 2020 and will employ around 200 staff.

As a latest addition to the reinvigoration of the Araneta City together with The New Gateway, the Gateway area currently features the Novotel Hotel, the Smart Araneta Center Coliseum, the Gateway Tower Building, and the Parking Garage South Building. All are strategically situated within the Gateway Square, interconnected via sky bridges.

Ibis Styles Hotel is part of the growing expansion of Accor portfolio in the country. The accelerated expansion plan will boost the leading hotel operator’s presence in the country from eight hotels with 2,127 rooms to 22 hotels with over 5,500 rooms within the next five years.

Currently, the nine new hotels signed increased the group’s total pipeline to 14 new hotels in the country with over 3,400 new rooms.

The 14 new properties include the introduction of six brands which will make their debut in the Philippines including — Pullman Living, MGallery, Swissôtel, Novotel Living, and Ibis Styles. The country is already home to Raffles, Fairmont, Sofitel, Mövenpick, Novotel and Mercure brands.
