Ascott Limited, a Singapore hospitality chain, has partnered with Cebu Landmasters Inc. (CLI) to open Citadines Cebu City next month.

Citadines Cebu will be the fourth Citadines serviced residence in the country and the first Ascott brand to introduce outside of Manila.

“We see great interest in Cebu, especially among young professionals and business travelers who combine their business and leisure goals at the same time. Citadines Cebu City is targeting young, independent travelers who are visiting Cebu and desire modern comforts, business connectivity, and customised services,” said Daniel Wee, Country General Manager for The Ascott Limited Philippines.

Located at the Base Line area, Citadines Cebu City is part of the 1.2-hectare development of CLI in transforming the old sports and recreation hub in the city. Apart from the serviced residences, the mixed-use development will offer 378 residential condominiums, 70 office units and retail shops.

The 180-room Citadines aims to be its guests’ home away from home, with its own serviced kitchen, wireless internet access, a built-in washer and dryer, among other amenities in each unit.

In addition, the property has concierge and housekeeping services, while a 24-hour reception and guest services team will ensure safety and security.

For the business traveler, there are conference and meeting facilities as well as a gym.

According to Philip Barnes, Ascott Deputy Country Manager (Philippines), the partnership between Ascott and Cebu Landmasters aims a goal of 1,600 units in place by 2022 in key cities such as Cebu, Cagayan de Oro, Davao, Dumaguete, and Iloilo.

Presently, Ascott operates 9 properties in the Philippines including Citadines Cebu City.

“We are also looking at interesting spots in Luzon such as Clark, Baguio, Palawan, and Naga as we want to maintain our position of being the largest hospitality player in Philippines operating twenty-four properties,” he added.
