Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu, the first luxury resort project of Robinsons Land Corp. (RLC), opens in a beachside location on the scenic Punta Engaño peninsula of Mactan island in Cebu.
RLC president Frederick Go, said the group is taking a keen interest in the country’s tourism and taking advantage of Cebu’s developments.
The 272-room resort is the centerpiece attraction to its 10-hectare mixed-use property of RLC in AmiSa complex.
“Teaming up with Dusit International, is a step in the proper direction for the company,” stated Arthur Gindap, senior vice president and Business Unit general manager of Robinsons Hotels and Resorts.
Designed to provide comfort and convenience, Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu’s resort facilities include a 100-meter long infinity pool overlooking a boardwalk promenade and the white sand shoreline, a 500-square meter kids’ Fun Zone, Namm Spa for wellness and rejuvenation and D-FiT Fitness Centre featuring Techno Gym equipment.
Four restaurant outlets include its signature Benjarong Thai restaurant, The View lobby lounge, all-day dining Sea Breeze Café, and Sunset Bar.
For meetings, conference and social events, Dusit Thani Mactan has a grand ballroom that can accommodate up to 700 people and four fully-equipped function rooms to fit 200 guests.
Besides Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu and dusitD2 Davao, other Dusit-branded hotels set to open this year include Dusit Thani Residence Davao hotel (Q2), which will open adjacent to dusitD2 Davao, and dusitD2 The Fort Manila, which will open as part of the Dusit Hospitality Management College in August.
Currently Dusit International has 12 signed properties and another seven in the pipeline, the Philippines promises to become Dusit’s largest cluster country by 2021. This also puts Dusit on course to become one of the largest international hotel operators in the Philippines.
