Marriott Hotel Manila’s top-of-the game performance is reflected by the back-to-back global recognitions of its General Manager Bruce Winton as 2017 General Manager of the Year in Asia Pacific, and Director of Finance Rosanna Lee for the Mustang Award on exemplary contributions on resolving obstacles and innovating services. The award was given in April by Marriott International.
Both awards are established by Marriott International to recognize outstanding efforts of leaders epitomizing success.
With unparalleled leadership and experience over three decades, Winton, being a homegrown professional, worked in 10 Marriott properties in 3 different continents. His 5 years stint as general manager of Marriott Manila made way to a transformation and successful expansion of Marriott to be a MICE destination hotel with the opening of Marriott Grand Ballroom and the West Wing to complement the ballroom.
Last year, he assumed the huge responsibility of being a Cluster General Manager of Courtyard Iloilo and the soon-to-open Sheraton Manila. With this critical role, Winton is undoubtedly performing beyond expectations to deserve the accolade.
Similar to Winton’s, the leadership of Lee is instrumental in the growth of the hotel in the recent years. She was able to manage crucial financial aspect of a thriving property and achieve positive revenue results. She is also now the Cluster Director for Marriott properties in the Philippines, balancing a huge spreadsheet of assets and responsibilities.
