The timeless classic afternoon tea or high tea can now be enjoyed at The Lounge in Hyatt City of Dreams Manila.
Just in time for the coming dog days of summer, this ageless tradition of enjoying afternoon tea with family, friends or business clients can be delightful as you may think.
The treats at High Tea at the Lounge are rich, plentiful and comforting so you have to come on an empty stomach, at least, with your friends. A mix of both savory and sweet goodness, the triple tier tray is laid according to your appetite. The afternoon delights start with a bite-sized Lumpiang Togue (bean sprout spring roll) and frozen Pinakurat (vinegar) as a shooter. The top layer begins with savory choices of Filipino all time favorites—Salted Egg Cheese Tart, Corned Beef Puto, Sisig Shooter, Ensalada on Crispy Pops complemented by finger sandwiches selection of Menudo Pandesal and Cajun Prawn Sandwich.
Beautifully presented cakes and pastries to satisfy your sweet tooth come on the middle and lower tiers. Choices of Chocolate Macarons, Strawberry Craquelin, Pistachio Opera Cake in a Rocher glaze, Mango Mousse layered with Calamansi Jam, Blueberry Financier, Buko Pandan tart, Brazo de Mercedes, Banana and Jackfruit in a crispy wrap, Lemon Madeleine, Coconut Macaroons, and fresh scones served with thick velvety clotted cream and strawberry jam, all these compete for your attention.
This generous afternoon tea serving, a choice of chamomile, peppermint or green tea, is ideally for two but can be shared up to five persons. As Filipinos are more of coffee drinkers, you have the option to be served any of the coffee selections. Servers are on hand to advise guests on blends to suit guest preferences.
High Tea at The Lounge is available during Fridays and Saturdays from 2:30pm to 5:00pm and priced at P1,500 net for two persons.
