The 2018 sustainable tourism week will be the busiest in its third year as more events and participating hotels are lined up by the organizers, Meliomar Inc.
The goal is to help improve the health of our oceans by pursuing responsible business practices in the sourcing of seafood products from more sustainable fisheries and aquaculture. The organizers, sponsors, and participating hotels recognize the future of our oceans are at stake and everyone is encouraged to come together to reverse the tide. A dynamic platform has been established for interested stakeholders to discuss the status, challenges, and solutions toward a more sustainable seafood in the Philippines.
Programs aligned for the Sustainable Seafood Week are: Oyster shucking competition (New World Hotel Makati), cooking competition between hotel groups (Meliomar compound and Marriott Hotel Manila), Global Seafood Certification, Traceability and Status in the Philippines (Sofitel Manila), and workshops on Masterclass Sustainable Seafood and Fishers (Hyatt COD Manila), Certified Sustainable Seafood Focus MSC at (Conrad Hilton Manila), and CSR-ASIA on inclusive business (Discovery Suites).
