Forbes Travel Guide awards

The most coveted list of the hospitality industry, the Forbes Travel Guide, is out and the Philippines has three of its luxury hotels in the Five-Star Hotel category.

Marco Polo Ortigas Manila is included for the second time along with the Sky Tower Solaire, while NÜWA City of Dreams gets listed for the first time.  2017 was the first listing of any Philippine hotel in the 60-year history of the Forbes Travel Guide.

“It’s our second consecutive time to be on the list. We are very grateful to have been recognized once again as one of the finest. This really shows how we provide only the most exceptional service that create meaning with every encounter,” says Marco Polo Ortigas General Manager Frank Reichenbach.

“We’ve always pushed ourselves to high standards and customer satisfaction, the little extra touches for the customers to remember and visit us again. It is one thing to reach goals but it is much more difficult to maintain and exceed the goals again, to keep producing the best results, and this requires team effort,” he added in an emotionally charged speech prior to announcing their latest feat to invited media.

Reichenbach paid tribute to his managers and staff for providing exceptional service 365 days a year, the hotel winning the accolade after only two and a half years of existence.

Forbes has been in the forefront of creating lists of what is best in the hospitality industry. Being included in the list is not easy, with 800 standards that hotels have to meet, revolving around delivering the highest guest experience and stellar customer service, beyond a hotel’s visual appeal.

“The key now is the service that has been increased to a ratio of 80% against 20% for facilities when it was 75%-25% just last year,”Reichenbach revealed.

On the other hand, NÜWA City of Dreams Manila gets its first time on the list after the unveiling of its new brand in January 16 from being Crown Towers in Manila and Macau.

“It is through the vision and leadership of Melco Resorts & Entertainment Chairman and CEO Lawrence Ho and the hard work and commitment of our management and staff that NÜWA City of Dreams Manila has achieved this recognition. We’re extremely proud of our colleagues for contributing to this high standard of service each and every day and we thank our guests for their trust and confidence,” said Kevin Benning, City of Dreams Manila Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
