Dusit Thani International has signed a hotel management agreement with Robinson’s Land Corporation (RLC) to operate Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu, a five-star resort scheduled to open on the last quarter of year 2018.
“This is the firm’s first agreement with Dusit Thani,” said RLC president Frederick Go. “We’re very excited, international arrivals in Cebu are growing leaps and bounds,” he added.
Targetting both leisure and business travelers, the beachfront resort will comprise of 271 rooms divided between three buildings adjacent to RLC’s Amisa private residences.
Facilities will include an infinity pool, a fully-equipped fitness center, an executive lounge, luxury spa, 3 restaurants with an al fresco and private dining , and 1,200 m2 of meeting space. Dusit’s signature gracious hospitality inspired by authentic Thai values will drive the service experience.
The Mactan resort-hotel also marks Dusit’s debut in Cebu but the group has two other upcoming hotels in Cebu’s city center. “It will be our first hotel in Cebu to be operational,”said Dusit International Group chief executive officer, Suphajee Suthumpun.
The upcoming Dusit resort in Mactan is about 30 minutes by car from the airport, via the Punta Engano Road. Mactan island is served by Mactan-Cebu International Airport which is currently undergoing a P175 billion expansion aimed at increasing capacity to 12.5 million from 4.5 million passengers. This year, Cebu is expected to welcome 10 million arrivals, a 12 percent increase from last year.
DusitThani Mactan Cebu will be the third property in the Philippines to carry the Dusit Thani brand besides the Dusit Thani Manila and the upcoming Dusit Thani Residence Davao. By 2018, Dusit Hospitality Management College will open in Bonifacio Global City. Other projects in the pipeline are Dusit Princess Cebu City, Dusit D2 Resort, San Juan, and Dusit d2 Davao.

Dusit International currently operates 29 properties in key destinations around the globe with 51 projects already confirmed to open within the next three years.
