A platoon of chefs namely Spanish Chefs Mikel Arriet and Juan Carlo de Terry, Filipino Chefs J. Gamboa, Fernando Aracama, Carlo Miguel, Jerome Valencia, Bruce Lim, among other members of the LTB Philippines Chefs Association, cooked a 10-foot diameter Paella last Saturday, March 12 at Greenbelt Park, Makati to start celebrations of the 2nd Flavors of the Philippines.
“To the master chefs present today, these are the pros who know more than 100 ways. We feel your pride as you represent the Philippines in various international events and for each accolade that you receive. We share your joy as each happy and tummy-satisfied guest leaves your dining halls. We salute your vision for our country to be among the respected and loved food havens in this part of the world,” stated DOT Undersecretary Benito Bengzon Jr. in his opening remarks.
Flavors of the Philippines is a month-long festival showcasing the best of the country’s gastronomic offerings through activities such as food tours to food tastings, concerts, agri–fairs, and weekend markets and bazaars.
The month of April is food month and the highlights are the second holding of Madrid Fusion Manila from April 07-09 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, and World Street Food Congress to be held from April 21-24 at the Bonifacio Global City.
